Prof Marc A. Reymond
Dr Reymond, born 1959, graduated as a physician from the University of Geneva, Switzerland and received his Doctorate from this University in 1986. After gaining international experience with fellowships at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium, 1994) and at the Erlangen University (Germany, 1996-7), he became Associate Professor of surgery at the University of Geneva in 1998. As a board-certified general and gastrointestinal surgeon, Dr Reymond became in 1999 Consultant surgeon, Head of Colorectal Surgery and then Full Professor at the University of Magdeburg, Germany. From 2005-2011, he was Chief of the Department of Surgery at the Bethel Hospital in Bielefeld, one of the largest charity academic hospitals in Germany. In 2012, he moved to the Ruhr-University Bochum as Deputy Chairman and Head of Surgical Oncology and setup there a certified Center for therapy of peritoneal diseases. In 2016, Prof. Reymond joined the University of Tübingen as the Director of the National Center for Pleura and Peritoneum (NCPP), the first institute worldwide dedicated to these organs.
